Hockaday Museum of Art Description:Landscapes: Oil Painting with Thomas English

Great Falls artist Thomas English is an avid outdoor painter as well as a studio painter. ?He has participated in shows throughout the United States and his work has been displayed at the Governors' Mansion in Helena, MT. He was also awarded the prestigious "Artist in Residency" in Glacier National Park. ?A founding member of the Montana Painters Alliance, he has participated in numerous Hockaday Museum of Art exhibitions and events.

Tom will cover all aspects of creating a painting including the basics of color theory and development of composition using basic shapes. ?The workshop will include instructor demonstrations of landscapes painted in an impressionist style, personal guidance for beginning and experienced painting students, as well as critiques. Using photo references provided, students will complete one or more oil paintings per day. Supply list is available at Museum or on line.
Cost for two days: Museum members/$150, Non-members/$165
